Preface : Kim Shin
After completing the second exhibition in 2023, over the past two years, we traveled through villages and alleyways across the country,
observing and experiencing things that are disappearing, changing, remaining, and newly emerging, and capturing them through images.Perhaps it is more accurate to say it was not work, but a joyful and happy play we shared together.
The first thing that struck us along this journey was the aging of our country. Maybe it caught our attention because we ourselves are growing older.
Through layers of traces left by time and lived experiences, we saw everyday moments that, though seemingly ordinary, are precious, and beyond that, glimpses of creation and the emergence of something new.
By sharing the images seen through the eyes of each member of the Happy Photographers group, we hope that visitors too can experience and share in the emotions we felt along the way

Over the past year, the Happy Photographers have traveled through villages and alleyways across the country, cameras in hand. The landscapes they encountered were those of rural villages that had already lost much of their vitality.
Yet through the eyes of the photographers, these scenes were not mere decay.
They captured traces of long-passed time and memories, and the lingering warmth of life that still remains.
The works presented in this, the third annual exhibition, go beyond simple documentation.
The photographers do not leave the village landscapes as they are they interpret them through reflection and emotion, rebirthing each scene into a singular image.
The photographs reveal not just what was captured, but how it was seen, conveying resonance beyond the image itself.
Through this exhibition, visitors will experience the weight of memory and existence that persists even within disappearing spaces.
We hope it offers a moment to recall the old landscapes and communal memories that linger in each of us, and to celebrate the ongoing creative journey of the Happy Photographers.
